Before and after left breast nipple reconstruction using the “nipple sharing” technique. A portion of the right donor nipple was excised and moved as a free graft to the left breast, previously reconstructed with a DIEP flap. Medical tattoo created an areolar circle. Both of these procedures can be done under local anesthesia in the office.

The second set of images shows the donor nipple before and after free nipple graft harvest. The remaining nipple retained normal sensation. The recipient nipple did not gain normal sensation, but the patient reports she can feel light touch in her new nipple.
