Before and after bilateral mastopexy (breast lift) and breast augmentation in a 43 year old woman. She had changed her lifestyle and lost a significant amount of weight. With that weight loss, she also lost all her breast volume, similar to what can happen after breastfeeding.

Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. She knew she did not want implants under the muscle, as she had a very physically demanding job and she understood that submuscular implants flatten and change shape with muscle contraction, and often end up sitting up too high and too wide, as they follow the direction of muscle pull.

A breast lift raised the height of her nipples and areolas, and draped her lower pole breast skin around the rounder, higher breast shape. This created a new “lollipop scar” in addition to an incision in her breast fold, used to insert the implant. Liposuction permanently removed excess fat from her bra roll and armpits (the “axillary rolls”).

Follow up photos are shown 2 months after surgery. Her incisions are bright pink, as expected for immature scar tissue. She is actively doing scar therapy, and loves that she no longer needs to wear a ton of padding in her push-up bra to achieve the look she used to have before weight loss!
