Before and after mastopexy and augmentation in a 42 year old mother of two. While she was naturally thin, after breast feeding she lost essentially ALL her natural breast volume and she lost a significant amount of weight. Her weight had been stable for several years and she led a healthy lifestyle. She apparently was a full C cup prior to significant weight loss and having children. Her goal was to regain her former breast volume, youthfulness and perkiness.

This patient absolutely did not want submuscular implants, as she understood the consequences of an implant under the muscle: a high and wide position, the motion/flexion deformity with movement of the chest muscles, and the possibility of tightness or discomfort related to implant placement under the major muscle of the chest.

My preference for ALL patients is to place implants on TOP of the muscle, regardless of their preoperative breast size, their body fat distribution, or whether the implant is being placed for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes. The goals are the same: a natural result without the sequelae of submuscular implant placement. She and my office were a very good fit!

A smooth round silicone gel implant was placed subglandularly. Despite her very thin frame and lack of chest wall padding, her implants look natural and there is no rippling. A lift raised her nipples and removed extra baggy breast skin. Follow up images are shown at 4 months after surgery.
