Before and after left nipple reconstruction in a 58-year-old breast cancer survivor. She had finished her cancer therapy, including a mastectomy, tissue expander reconstruction, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She had a DIEP flap several years later and was finally ready for her finishing touch – nipple and areola reconstruction!

The “nipple sharing” technique was used to create the nipple. A piece of the right donor nipple was moved as a free nipple graft and transplanted to the left breast reconstruction. Medical tattoo created an areolar circle.

Follow up photos are shown 6 weeks after surgery, including the nipple reconstruction and the donor nipple, which became slightly smaller but maintained its sensation.
