Before and after breast reduction in a 17 year old high school student. Many young women choose to have their breast reduction surgery right after they graduate high school and to recover during the summer before they go away to college.

Her large, very heavy and sense breasts were out of proportion to her athletic and relatively small frame. She stayed proportional to her frame and as soon as she woke up, her symptoms of back pain, neck pain and shoulder strain were gone! Now she just needs to work on better posture (a bad habit that is common in young women who are trying to hide their large breasts!).

Follow up photos are shown early on at 6 weeks after surgery. We lovingly call this the “Frankenboob Stage”. Things look ugly, particularly at the bottom of the breasts where swelling pools and takes the longest to go away.

Her incisions are still healing with normal scabs and redness is visible everywhere from increased blood flow during healing. She has just been given permission to start exercising (with one sports bra only, instead of three!) and she is off to college.
