Before and after breast reduction in a 17 year old woman.  She had significant asymmetry between her breasts and a size that was completely out of proportion with her small frame.

She was starting to experience many of the symptoms of macromastia (back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, shoulder grooving, rashes under the breasts, difficulty exercising, needing to wear three sports bras) that are very common with very large breasts.

A breast reduction removed a significant amount of heavy breast tissue from the bottom and sides of her breasts.  A small amount of liposuction was used in the axillary roll region (armpit fat) and back fat/bra roll to debulk this part of the breasts and to keep the incision in the fold of her breasts as short as possible.

Whereas the majority of her breast tissue hung below the fold of the breasts before surgery, after surgery the breast tissue has been reshaped and lifted to lie completely above her breast fold.  A breast reduction ALWAYS includes a lift as well!

Her areola diameter was decreased to create cute, small areolas that fit the smaller, perkier breast size and shape of her new breasts.  A generous connection was maintained between the nipple and the remainder of her breast tissue to provide the very best chance of breast feeding in the future and to enable complete nerve recovery.  The sensation to her nipples has nearly recovered completely, and is expected to continue to recover over the first year.

Follow up photos are shown at 6 months after surgery.  Her incisions are maturing and starting to fade.  She can now exercise without any difficulty and feels she is a new person!  Her breasts are now much more proportional to her frame, and she has achieved symmetry of their size.
