Before and after labiaplasty in a 22 year old woman. Her long, thick labia minora tissue was bothersome to her while exercising and made wearing “athleisure” uncomfortable. She was concerned that her long clitoral hood might be interfering with sensation during sex.

We tell patients that a labiaplasty will not change ability to become aroused, to achieve orgasm or erogenous sensation in general. It takes time to get used to your body, particularly after surgery such as a labiaplasty. In general, “listen to your body” during recovery is the mantra we follow – sex can resume when patients feel comfortable, and the more comfortable and relaxed she feels, things tend to fall into place.

A labiaplasty trimmed excess labia minora but kept a “normal”, proportional amount of labia left behind. She feels very comfortable walking nude in the gym change room and with her new intimate partner. Follow up photos are shown 8 months after surgery.
