Before and after labiaplasty focusing on the labia minora in a 31-year-old woman. The vast majority of labiaplasties we perform involve the labia minora only – the inner lips of the external genitalia. Some women seek either reduction of the outer lips – the labia majora – and some women seek trimming of both.

Labiaplasty surgery is offered to our patients under local anesthesia in our office operating room, with an oral anti-anxiety medication and a patient-controlled mixture of laughing gas and oxygen, called Pro-Nox.

In this patient’s case, she also was having tubular breast correction using breast implants and a lift, so a combined labiaplasty and mastopexy-augmentation was performed under general anesthesia.

Excess labia minora tissue was trimmed from back to front, including excess skin of the clitoral hood. Labiaplasty does not change erogenous sensation, nor does it alter the ability to become aroused or to orgasm after surgery.

Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery with resolution of surgical swelling and her final results.
