Patient # 254

Before and after bilateral breast revision consisting of scar revisions and bilateral subglandular breast augmentation with smooth round silicone gel breast implants in a 65-year-old woman. She was looking for an improved appearance to her breasts overall and to restore their prior beautiful shape and fullness.

She previously had undergone bilateral breast reduction over a decade ago – since that time, she had gained a lost weight several times resulting in mild breast asymmetry. She also had a recent upper abdominal surgery that distorted her breast scars, created a new scar that crossed the midline in cleavage area and resulted in loss of medial and upper pole breast fullness toward.

Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were inserted through her inframammary fold scars and placed on top of the muscle, to allow for the most natural look and feel to her breasts, avoiding an animation deformity and other submuscular-specific breast implant deformities such as a “double bubble” or “bottoming out” of the implants due to a downward force of the pectoralis major muscle.

Her past breast lift scars were redone on the left breast to create improved symmetry to her nipples and areolas, and sutures were used to reinforce and reconstruct her right inframammary fold, which had lost definition from her upper abdominal surgery. After surgery, she took a full month off exercise and stayed out of her pool for a full six weeks (the biggest challenge for this enthusiastic pool party-host!). Follow up photos are shown 2 months after surgery.
