Before and after liposuction of the abdomen, anterior flanks and pubic region in a 48-year-old woman. She had stubborn midsection abdominal fat that had gradually accumulated during perimenopause. She wasn’t looking to completely change her figure – instead, she wanted to have less fullness and thick fat in her abdomen.

To treat this firm, fibrous fat (which could be confirmed on physical examination), power-assisted liposuction was employed. The rapid vibrations of the liposuction wand helped to break up the tissue and enable sufficient fat removal – which would have been very difficult with standard liposuction, that easily removed soft, squishy fat. After surgery, she wore compression under her clothes for six weeks.

Follow up photos are shown 1 year after surgery. She is very pleased with her final results!
