Before and after bilateral upper lid blepharoplasty (upper eyelid lift) in an 83 year old man. He had been thinking about having this procedure for decades, and after injuring himself due to decreased vision with his drooping eyelids, he felt now would be the best time to have surgery.

He had several medical problems that would make Anesthesiologist nervous; luckily, this is a procedure we can offer patients in the office under local anesthesia!

Excess skin was gently trimmed from his upper eyelids. The eyelid muscles and fat were left alone. The eyelid skin was delicately repaired using a removable suture woven underneath the upper eyelid skin and a few interrupted rapidly dissolving sutures to ensure the very best skin approximation.

Postoperatively, he skipped his daily walks for 10 days and avoided bending over and straining. His bruising resolved by two weeks. Follow up photos are shown 4 months after surgery. His eyelids look natural and masculine, and he still looks like himself!

Plastic Surgery, especially in men, should not be obvious to others. The best results are the ones where no one actually noticed you’ve had surgery, but that you are looking really good!
