Before and after breast reduction and liposuction of the bra roll in a 35 year old woman. She was obese, but her breasts severely limited her from exercising. Although we prefer our patients to be as close to their ideal weight as possible prior to scheduling Plastic Surgery, in this case we agreed to schedule surgery before weight loss with her Primary Care Physician’s blessing.

Nearly three pounds of fat and breast tissue was removed from each breast. Postoperatively, she noted small corners at the ends of her incisions. These are sometimes inevitable after surgery in obese patients – we do our best to trim all excess skin, but on occasion, sneaky “dog ears” remain. These standing cones of skin and fat can be safely trimmed in the office under local anesthesia after one year of healing.

Follow up photos are shown 10 months after surgery. She is considering dog ear revision in another year – for now, she is enjoying exercise, getting fit and seeing some natural weight loss!
