Before and after lower facelift/neck lift/MACS lift in a 69 year old woman with significant lower facial aging.  She had deep wrinkles as a result of years of sun damage and never wearing sun screen.  She looked in the mirror and saw her mother’s neck and jowls.  She was an excellent candidate for the MACS (minimal access cranial suspension) lower face or neck lift.

Her neck and jowl deep tissues (submusculoaponeurotic system, or SMAS) were resuspended upward to a fixed point in her temporal region.  Loose skin and jowls were relocated upward and a short scar was hidden in front of her ear and just under her side burn (photo of the full scar on the MACS lift page).

Follow up photos are shown two and a half months after surgery.  She took a month off social activities and resumed light exercise at that point as well.  Her neckline is greatly improved and she feels her neck no longer makes her look way older than she feels!  She is now tackling the sun damage with skin resurfacing using IPL and facial peels to improve her skin texture and overall appearance.
