Before and after tertiary neck lift in a 69-year-old woman using the MACS lift technique. Her original facelifts were 17 and 6 years ago, but it did not specifically address the neck. She had subtle jowls that were not addressed at her last surgery. She was in excellent physical shape and wanted to subtly improve the contour of her jawline.

There is no particular age limit for surgery – as long as patients are healthy enough to plan an elective surgical procedure under general anesthesia with a month of “social downtime” afterwards, it is reasonable to consider surgery.

A MACS lift reopened her existing scars in front of the ear and repositioned the soft tissues of her lower face and neck. A minimal amount of excess skin was removed, as shown in the last set of images. The jagged portion of skin is from just under her sideburn, and the long vertical strip of skin from in front of the ear on each side.

Follow up photos are shown 10 months after surgery, with mature scars and an even more fabulous neck contour than she began with!
