Before and after bilateral breast lift (auto-augmentation mastopexy) with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 47-year-old woman. Her breasts had always been large and in proportion to her curvy figure, but during perimenopause they lost their former perky shape and became droopy. She wanted to preserve a proportional breast size but have a more round, perky breast shape.
The auto-augmentation technique of superomedial pedicle mastopexy removed excess skin and reshaped her breasts, keeping her volume exactly the same. She required a lollipop and inframammary fold scar, as is required for every major mastopexy technique. Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls. At the same time, she chose to have additional liposuction of her abdomen, flanks and thighs.
Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery, with a pleasing, lifted and more youthful breast shape. Her incisions are still fading and will continue to flatten and look less pink with time, as the increased blood supply required for healing recedes.
