Before and after liposuction of the abdomen, circumferential flanks, pubic region and upper inner thighs in a 57-year-old woman who was looking to improve her body contour without a more invasive procedure like a tummy tuck. She had tried one of the non-invasive machines in the past that was supposed to remove fat, but did nothing except empty her wallet. She “was okay” with her loose lower abdominal skin, and wanted to look better in clothes.
Liposuction removed five liters of excess fat during a three hour outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia in our own Quad A-certified outpatient operating room, right here at San Francisco Plastic Surgery! The fat was permanently suctioned out through several 2-3 millimeter incisions hidden in skin creases wherever possible.
After surgery, she wore compression garments under her clothes for six weeks, and resumed light exercise when her bruising had completely resolved (at one month). Follow up photos are shown 8 months after surgery. Her skin contraction is impressive, and she loves her new figure! She is delighted to know that things will still continue to improve with time.
