Eyelids too? When Is More than a Neck Lift Recommended for Men?

A neck lift is designed only to treat the lower half of the face and the neck. Neck lifts do not address the forehead or eye region, which is often ideal for men as they do not normally seek surgery in these areas.  Men want to look their best and avoid a tired look in their eye and brow region.

However, if a gentleman also presents with droopy upper eyelid skin or excess bags of skin in the under-eye region, an upper and/or lower eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) will be discussed with him.

Many men are concerned about looking different or feminized when they think about Plastic Surgery to the eyes.  Male blepharoplasty maintains a normal, masculine appearance to the eyes.

In most instances, only skin is removed, helping to preserve muscle and fat around the eyelids that gives a man his characteristic male look in the eye region. Additionally, incisions are generally hidden in the natural crease of the upper eyelid or just below the eyelash rim in the lower eyelid to help conceal any visible signs of surgery.

Recovery time after a male blepharoplasty is typically around two weeks, and results are “subtle but significant”, usually known only to the patient and his spouse.

All everyone else notices is that he looks refreshed, relaxed and youthful! In fact, comments my male patients often hear following treatment include, “Have you lost weight?” and “You must be just back from vacation.”
